4 Simple Steps To Smooth Skin

We always tell our clients that caring for your skin is not all about expensive facials and time-consuming beauty routines. Sometimes it’s about going back to basics and looking after yourself.

Everyone hates acne and wants smooth, healthy and radiant skin! While everyone’s skin is ultimately unique, here are some simple steps everyone can take to improve the condition of their skin:

  1. Eat Clean

Sugars are the enemy of smooth and healthy skin. And the average diet contains more sugar than you think. Bubble tea, cookies, cereals and even seemingly healthy foods/drinks like yoghurt and fruit juice contain substantial amounts of sugar. Also beware the hidden sugars in your diet, such as in alcoholic beverages, bread etc. You don’t have to go cold turkey, but consider cutting out the bigger sugar culprits like carbonated sweet drinks and reducing refined carbohydrates. This is especially true for all of you out there suffering from serious acne issues. Cut out the sugars and you will realise the wonders it does for your skin!

  1. Get Sufficient Sleep

You saw this one coming, didn’t you? We all know from experience that not getting sufficient sleep tends to result in breakouts and bad skin. Lack of sleep also makes us more negative, reduces our productivity and impairs our ability to make good decisions.

We all already know we need sufficient sleep, so do it! Fixing a regular bedtime can help you get sufficient good quality sleep. If that’s not possible, at least set aside some time before bed to wind down and put away your devices. Going to bed in a relaxed stage will help you fall asleep more easily.

  1. Exercise

Prefer glowing, radiant skin instead of that pasty-white office-worker pallor? Exercise regularly! It’s good for your skin, your heart and your mind! There’s lots of science showing that regular exercise not only makes you physically healthier, but also improves focus and concentration at work, and helps you regulate your emotions better.

If you find regular exercise challenging, start small, perhaps just once or twice a week. Finding a fun group class or exercising with friends also helps you to get pumped about getting pumped!

  1. Reduce Stress

The ability to tap out when you stress out is so important to help your skin recover its own natural regenerative properties.
